How the volunteers Beat the Heat through altruistic endeavour of Water Facility

Basic and fundamental to any life form is the core element of life, water. The significance of water cannot be overstated as life cannot be imagined without water. Only 3% of water on earth is fresh water, of which only 1.2% can be used as drinking water.

Water, food, clothes and shelter are the basic needs of a human being and are vital for the survival. Yet, millions struggle to get pure drinking water.

Tormented by their own struggles for survival, many underprivileged, those living below the poverty line, slum dwellers or those living in rural areas face a daunting challenge – a challenge of survival in scarcity of safe drinking water. In the absence of clean drinking water, they are forced to consume contaminated water from rivers, ponds etc and often face severe health challenges.

Ever increasing global warming has made the summers even hotter, posing severe challenges for passersby and travellers, especially in public places devoid of drinking water facilities, and are forced to face the beat of heat. The consequences for some can be unpleasant, as they face heat cramps, heat exhaustion or other severe challenges.

Sacred Teachings of the great Philanthropist, Saint Dr MSG

But true humanity lies in alleviating the pain and suffering of others, and so, with a heart full of care for every living being, Saint Dr. Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh Ji Insan commenced the initiative to ensure water availability for those in need.

For people living in slums or rural areas, passersby in cities, as well as birds and stray animals, Guru Ji urged his over 68 million followers to provide water for all. Thus began a saga of selfless service, spanning across the globe and quenching the thirst of millions every summer.

Undeterred by high temperatures, they serve with zeal: Water Facility Set-up

These summers, as the world seared under the hot scorching summer sun, and the temperature soared above 50° C, the altruist volunteers of Dera Sach Sauda diligently engaged with their heartfelt endeavours of hydrating the masses.

Bringing their resources together, they set up sweet water facilities, also known as ‘Chabeel’, especially in the hustling bustling areas with high public density, such as bus stands, busy road junctions, marketplaces etc.

Men, women, children and elderly, all come together for this noble initiative. Starting their efforts with the holy slogan of ‘Dhan Dhan Satguru Tera Hi Asra’, and thanking their Guru, Saint Dr. MSG, for the divine guidance and opportunity to serve, these volunteers put in their whole hearted efforts to set up the Chabeel and make the sweet drink.

With trays full of water cups in hands, they serve it to passengers on bus, trains, vehicles, to rickshaw pullers, auto drivers and those on foot, ensuring optimum hydration for one and all. The look of satisfaction on the faces of both, served and the servers, is that of gratitude, where the server is grateful for the opportunity to serve those in need and those being served feel the bliss of having their thirst quenched in the unbearable heat.

Discipline and dedication go hand in hand for these volunteers, who ensure that there’s no littering. Ensuring cleanliness, these volunteers leave the place cleaner than they found it, encouraging and inspiring the onlookers, who cannot stop praising them and the pious teachings of revered Guru ji, Saint Dr. Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh ji Insan.

It is worth noting that in the year 2024, 400 chabeels and water facilities were set up from 1 January to 15 June in various cities, towns and villages of Punjab, Haryana, Rajasthan, Delhi and other states by the Dera Sacha Sauda volunteers.

Safe Drinking Water Facility set-ups in Rural Areas

There are many rural areas which face drinking water shortage or lack of drinking water facility on highways or public roads.

Dera Sacha Sauda volunteers set up permanent water facilities in such locations by placing earthen pots of drinking water in shaded areas. These set-ups are created after taking due permissions from the authorities.

The pots are filled everyday with clean and safe drinking water by these servitors, who are grateful and happy to be of service to humanity.

Under the DROP initiative, multiple public water coolers with RO facility have also been set up nationwide by the Dera Sacha Suda volunteers.

All such facilities are akin to breath of fresh life for all those struggling to get safe drinking water. Not only do these provide drinking water, but also safeguard them from facing any water born diseases like cholera, diarrhoea, dysentery etc. This has proved to be a boon for the vulnerable section, especially the pregnant women, children and the senior citizens.

Let Compassion and Care Shape a Harmonious World

Serving mankind is serving God – with such pious teachings from the revered Saint Dr. Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh Ji Insan, the Dera Sacha Sauda volunteers dedicate their enthusiastic and unwavering efforts each year to provide water facilities and serve as many people as possible. The blessings they receive from those who quench their thirst, and from their Guru, serve as their divine earnings.

Blessed are those who have a true spiritual mentor, guiding the world towards the path of service and fostering a harmonious, peaceful, and loving world. Thanks to Saint Dr. Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh Ji Insan and the dedicated volunteers for undertaking this life-saving noble initiative.
